History of Spectra
The Spectra Medical Devices organization was established and has been headquartered in Wilmington, MA, since 1995. Since then, the company has grown to include more than 300 employees across four sites worldwide, including two manufacturing plants in South Korea. Today, Spectra is one of the largest procedural needle manufacturers in the world.
From our beginnings in Wilmington, we have expanded manufacturing and warehouse capacity, product lines, e-commerce capabilities, and direct sales channels to gain market share in more than 50 countries.
Since then, we’ve leveraged our precision technology and expanded our portfolio to grow beyond needles. Today, we distribute a wide range of complementary pharmaceutical products, surgical instruments, and medical supplies. We’re also a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) to industry-leading, multi-national healthcare companies, global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and emerging technology companies.
